How It Works
It’s as simple as 1… 2… 3! Getting started with the ARS Backup!™ could not be easier! Here’s what you need to do: (1) Sign up for the program -- You can do this at our Web site “Sign Up” page where it will ask you all of the usual information like name, address, phone, email, etc. Once you sign up, you will receive email instructions with your specific account information. All of the details in this email are vital to your backups so keep this email safe.
Q. Why do I need to backup my data?
A. Backing up files can protect against accidental loss of user data, database corruption, hardware failures, and even natural disasters. It is your job as an administrator to make sure that backups are performed regularly, kept in a secure location, and are routinely checked to ensure they are valid and functional. With the popularity of Ransom style viruses, a good backup is imperative. Trying to retrieve your data from a Ransom attacker may cost tens of thousands of dollars, and is not guaranteed.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Depending on your data size, our smallest package is $250 a year and the largest is $1,000 a year. You can find the pricing chart under the "How Much Does It Cost" section right under the FAQ's.
Q. How does it work?
A. Once ARSBackup is installed on the same computer as Route Manager, and the schedule is setup, it will automatically backup all Route Manager data changes to our secure offsite server. Also, we rotate through the last 7 backups. So in the event your system was compromised and backed up prior to you recognizing it, we have 6 other backups to refer to. To minimize bandwidth, and maximize efficiency, only files that "changed" are updated each day.
Q. Where is my data stored?
A. Your data is stored on our secure offsite servers daily. Additionally, an e-mail will be transmitted to you each time your data is successfully backed up to our servers or if there was an issue and it did not complete the backup.
Q. How do I restore my data?
A. If a restore is ever needed, we recommend contacting our support staff. We can get you up and going quickly so as to not delay any business! You can restore your data following these steps:
Note: It is highly recommended you speak with our friendly support staff prior to restoring a backup.
Start ARSBackup (Start > All Programs > ARSBackup > ARSBackup) and select the "Restore" tab. In the "Restore Path" dialog, select the folder you would like to restore your files to. Note: Do NOT choose the Route Manager Data folder for this step!
Press the "Get Directory" button to retrieve the list of files you may restore.
Select the files you would like to restore.
Press the "Restore" button.
